What Shapes Your Premium

Insurers arrive at your premium by looking at a handful of factors during underwriting. Knowing them ahead of time shows why two quotes can be far apart. We cover each one with you before you apply, so the final number makes sense when you see it.

We go over these factors by phone and show what each choice would cost before you apply. The insurer settles the final premium after underwriting, and we explain any change before you agree.

How old you are when you apply
Prices rise with age, so a policy started at 35 usually costs far less each month than the same policy started at 50. Waiting a few years can add more than most people expect.
Your health
The insurer reviews your height and weight, recent blood pressure and cholesterol readings, your prescriptions and the health of your parents and siblings. Some policies call for a brief exam, and others are approved based on your health answers alone.
Tobacco and nicotine use
Smoking, vaping and chewing tobacco can raise premiums sharply. Many insurers want you nicotine-free for a set period before offering better rates.
Amount and length of coverage
Adding coverage or years increases the cost. Choosing a 20-year term that matches your mortgage, instead of a 30-year term you might not need, keeps the premium lower.
Which type of policy
Term life offers the most coverage for a small premium. Whole life and universal life cost more since they last for life and can build cash value.
Riders you choose
Extras like waiver of premium, child coverage or an early payout for serious illness increase the cost. We suggest only the ones that suit you.

Coverage for Every Stage of Life

The first thing most callers want to know is how much coverage makes sense for them, and which kind. That is where we begin. Term life insurance covers the years when people depend on your paycheck, while whole life insurance and universal life insurance build cash value and last a lifetime. We also arrange final expense insurance, mortgage protection insurance and retirement income planning, so the coverage you buy fits the rest of your plan for the future.

    Term Life Insurance

Affordable coverage for a set number of years, matched to your income, your debts and how long the people who rely on you will need support.

    Whole Life Insurance

Permanent coverage with a level premium and cash value that grows over time, set up by one agent who handles the quotes, application and follow-up.

  • Universal Life Insurance

Permanent coverage with premiums and a death benefit you can adjust, set up and reviewed with one agent who explains how the funding works.

  • Final Expense Insurance

A smaller, permanent policy that helps your family cover funeral costs, medical bills and last debts, set up with one agent who answers every question.

  • Mortgage Protection

Life coverage matched to your loan balance and remaining years, paid to your family rather than the lender, so they decide how to handle the mortgage.

  • Retirement Income Planning

We line up your Social Security, savings and pensions, find where monthly income falls short, and explain annuity and cash value options in plain terms.

How Getting Covered Works

Expect a few weeks between your first call and an active policy, most of it spent in underwriting. Each step is below.

  1. 1

    A conversation about your needs

You call and talk with the person who will handle your policy. We ask about your family, income, debts and goals, and answer whatever questions you bring.

  2. 2

Options laid out side by side

We show you a few coverage amounts and policy types with their costs, and explain the tradeoffs in plain language. You decide, with no pressure to rush.

  3. 3

    Application and underwriting

We help you fill out the application and name your beneficiaries correctly. If a medical exam is needed, we explain how it is scheduled and what to expect, then keep you updated until the insurer makes its decision.

  4. 4

    Your finished policy, read together

Once the insurer says yes, we sit down by phone and read the final contract with you section by section. We double-check every beneficiary name and share, and suggest a safe place to keep the document where your family can find it.

Why Clients Stay With Us

Buying life insurance often means repeating your story to a call center, an underwriter and a stranger who shows up for the exam. We do it differently. One person handles your file from the first conversation to the day your beneficiary needs help.

You always know who to call

The person who quotes your policy is the same person who answers when you add a child, change a beneficiary or wonder whether your coverage still fits. No ticket numbers, no starting over.

We size coverage before we quote

We ask about your income, debts, mortgage balance and who relies on you. The amount we recommend comes straight from those answers, and it is often smaller than people expect.

Every term explained in plain words

Riders, conversion options, cash value and contestability periods can read like a foreign language. We walk through each one so you know exactly what you own.

We follow the application through

Underwriting can take a few weeks and sometimes stalls on a missing medical record. We track it, tell you where it stands, and handle the follow-up so you are not chasing paperwork.

We check in after you sign

Life changes. We reach out once a year to look at your coverage with you, and we are there to help your family start a claim if that day comes.

A Small Agency Built Around One Relationship

Our clients in Lewisville and the surrounding area include young parents, couples getting close to retirement and people running small businesses. We started from a simple idea: buying coverage that protects your family should not feel like being passed from desk to desk.

When you work with us, one agent learns your situation and stays with it. That person explains your choices, follows your application, and is still the one answering your call years later when you want to add coverage, review a beneficiary or talk through retirement income. You can read more on our About page.

Lewisville and the Towns Around It

Our clients live all over Lewisville and in neighboring towns such as Flower Mound, Highland Village, The Colony, Carrollton and Coppell, as well as Hickory Creek, Lake Dallas, Corinth, Lantana and Grapevine. Since almost all of our work happens by phone, being a town or two away makes no difference in the help you receive.

Questions We Hear From Clients

Something not covered here? (972) 573-7853

How much coverage do I actually need?

A common starting point is enough to cover a few years of income, pay off the mortgage and other debts, and handle future expenses like college. Your figure depends on who relies on you and what you've already put away. We work through it with you by phone before recommending anything.

What's the difference between term and whole life?

Term life lasts for a period you pick, usually 10, 20 or 30 years, and gives a lot of coverage for a lower premium. Whole life never runs out and builds cash value you can borrow against, but it costs more each month. Many families choose term while the kids are young and the mortgage is large.

Will I need a medical exam?

Often not. Smaller policies are frequently approved from a health questionnaire and a records check. Bigger amounts or some policy types require a short appointment for blood work and basic measurements. We tell you which one applies before you apply.

Is there a fee to talk or get a quote?

No. Conversations and quotes cost nothing, and you're never obligated to buy. You only pay premiums if you decide to apply and the insurer approves your policy.

I have life insurance through work. Is that enough?

Employer coverage is usually one or two years of pay, which may not go far for your family. It also often ends when you leave the job. We can look at your current benefit and tell you plainly whether your own policy makes sense.

Are you going to pressure me?

No. We explain your options and the reasons behind our suggestions, then let you decide when you're ready. If the coverage you have already works, we'll tell you.

What does my beneficiary do to file a claim?

Your beneficiary sends a claim form and a copy of the death certificate to the insurer, which typically pays once its review is done. We help your family gather the paperwork and stay in touch with the insurer so they don't have to handle it alone.
